About Us
The Boston Shambhala Center was founded by the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and is currently led by his son and student Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The Center emphasizes the practice of meditation based on both the Buddhist and Shambhala teachings, and the meditation-in-action of Nalanda Arts.
We offer a large range of classes and events for newcomers, those interested in exploring a full path of practice and study, and our more advanced students (tantrikas). We also host community gatherings, and celebrations. In community life, we endeavor to put into practice the principles of courage and compassion. This helps us to experience daily life as a constant opportunity for spiritual practice and social service.
Recently we have switched to renewable energy thanks to our friends at MakemeSustainable. For more information on MakeMeSustainable please click here.
The Boston Shambhala Center is part of an international community. There are more than 180 centers and groups around the world, as well as thousands of individual members. Here is a place to start with some of the Shambhala resources available.
