The Shambhala Meditation Center of Boston is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and further developed by his son and lineage holder Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Our center, located in Brookline Village, offers a variety of learn to meditate programs including an open house on Wednesdays, an Under Thirty Meditation night on Tuesdays, Nyinthun (sitting intensive) on Sundays, a core curriculum of Buddhist and Shambhala teachings, as well as training in advanced contemplative practices. Public sitting and evening chants are offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6 pm - 7 pm.
Shambhala vision is rooted in the contemplative teachings of Buddhism, yet is a fresh expression of the spiritual journey for our time. We invite you to explore our diverse programs designed to help Bostonians of all traditions discover their inherent sanity, gentleness and humor.
Stop by any of our weekly programs for newcomers. Please send us an email or call us at 617-734-1498 if you have any questions about the Shambhala Center. For an easily download-able information card please click here.
